Back Order Management
A back order release refers to the process of fulfilling orders that were previously placed but could not be fulfilled immediately due to stock unavailability.
When a product is on back order, it means that it is temporarily out of stock, and customers who placed orders for that product must wait until it becomes available again.
Once the stock for a back ordered product is replenished, the back order release process involves identifying and prioritizing the pending orders for that product.
The orders are then released for fulfillment, and the product is shipped to the customers who were waiting for it.
Step 01 How To Identify
- Search for the order in OMS, then check the status of all the order lines.
- Search if there is a packing slip.
- Search for stock log or for the item/order number. You need to identify if there is movement of the stock.
- If yes, this also means that the quantity they picked in the first place was 0.
- If there is none for both (2) and (3), find the order in the scanner using the "Back Order Release"
- Advise client or be advised that the orders can be processed again if there is available stock.
Step 02 Referred Issues
- Order back to status 'picked'
- Order cannot be released
